Parrish Kinders Thankful Tree!

I saw this cute idea on Pintrest (my new addiction) and thought that I would use the idea with my kinders! Have fun reading what everyone was thankful for!

I am thankful for all of my kinders!!!

Calendar Binders

Every Morning (except Wednesday Library Day) we work on our calendar binder! It is an interactive way for your child to learn how a calendar works as well as other math skills involved with our calendar!

Everyone has thier own binder that they work in!

We learn about tally marks and counting by 5!

We also write the date everyday!

I was worried in the beginning but the kids are doing great with it!!!

How to cook a Thanksgiving turkey!

I love to ask kids questions because you just never know what they will say! What better question to ask this time of year than "how do you cook a Thanksgiving turkey"! I had to give the kids a few prompts: where do you get a turkey, how do you cook it, how long, then what, and then I asked who cooks the best turkey that you have ever had. The Cafeteria served turkey today for lunch so I'm afraid that it may have swayed a few answers!

“Get a turkey from the wild. Then clean it! Take it home and cook it in the stove for 30 minutes. Then you eat it! My mom makes the best turkey!” Kaytlin

“Get a turkey from the grocery store or chicken store. Cook it in a stove for 15 minutes then you have grade the feathers off and then you pull the bone off and then you eat it until it’s all gone. My mom makes the best turkey!” Carson

“Somebody gives us a turkey. Cook it in the oven maybe for an hour then you take it out and eat it. The Cafeteria cooks the best turkey!” Garrett

“Get a turkey from the fields. Cook it in the oven for six hours or something. Then wait until it cools off and then you eat it. I’ve never had turkey before!” Levi

“Get a turkey from the Dollar Store. Cook it in my house on the stove for maybe an hour. Then we take it out and eat it. My Mama makes the best turkey!” Carmen

“Get a turkey from the wild. First you pull all the feathers off then you cook it in the oven for 15 seconds. Then eat it until it’s no more turkey just bones. My Mom makes the best turkey!” Toby

“We go to where my papa works to get a turkey we chase one turkey and shoot it and we eat. Cook it in a pan, make a fire with a circle thing and get wires out and we cook it for just a little bit while and sometimes we do wienies or bologna sandwiches when we go camping. My Papa and Ninny make the best turkey but sometimes they are too hard to catch!” Slade

“Go to the Dollar Store to get a turkey. Cook it in the stoves for like a 60 minutes. Then you eat it. My Mom makes the best turkey!” Brayden G.

“Get a turkey from the Dollar Store. Cook it in the oven for 2 days. You are supposed to get it out and you eat it. The school makes the best turkey!” Marcus

“You buy a turkey from the Dollar Store. Cook it on the stove for just 20 minutes. Then take it out of the stove and then you eat it. My Daddy makes the best turkey!” Braden C.

“Go to the park and get a turkey. Cook it at my house in the cook thing for 3 minutes. Then take it out and eat it. My Mom makes the best turkey!” Letycia

“Get a turkey from the store. Cook it with a pan in the stove for like 10 hours. Then eat it. My Mimi makes the best turkey!” George

“Buy a turkey in the woods. Cook it in the swirly thing like in the oven it’s a bread thing that swirled around that chicken. Cook it for 15 minutes. Then take it out and we eat it. My Daddy and Mama make the best turkey!” Abigail

“Get a turkey from Wichita. Cook it at home on the stove for 5 minutes. The eat it on plates. Rick makes the best turkey!” Olivia

“Get a turkey on a farm. Cook it in the oven for 3 minutes. Then you eat it at the tables. My Mom makes the best turkey!” Rafael

I know that the Dollar Store has a little bit of everything but I had no idea they had turkeys!

Talking Turkey!

Yesterday we had a visit from my husband Mr. Cash. His is a hunting guide and avid turkey hunter! He brought us his stuffed turkey that he uses for a decoy along with his different calls! He explained all about turkeys and then had time to answer some questions for us!
